The Final Whistle of Summer

Liang-Ting-Ao school is a rural primary school in the Hunan province of China. Most pupils are children left in the care of grandparents while the parents work in the city. Two years ago, Qiongqiong, a physical education teacher created a girls basketball team. This is the girl’s last semester. The best player, Li-jun has been accepted by the Chinese basketball champion middle school, Yali School. However, her family’s poverty and her bad grade became her big burden. This is Qiongqiong’s last year teaching at Liang-Ting-Ao school. The team gets the chance to attend national pupils’ contest at Wuhan in July and that is the last time they play basketball together. After the last whistle of the summer, they will go to different directions.
