SIAM BURMA DEATH RAILWAY

This is a documentary film about the Asian Labourers (Indian Tamils, Burmese & Javanese) who worked like slaves at Siam (Thailand) – Burma death railway line during WWII.
Generally the title “Siam-Burma Death Railway” emphasizes the tearful faces of POW's and their sufferings to the outside world. The Records of WWII are projecting the cruelty of this 415 KM lengthy railway construction by Japanese army and role of POW's in archives and Libraries. The Books published on this issue after the war by POW's and their families had announced the wounded experiences of allied forces. The existing war records of WWII are illuminating the stories of POW's alone.

Director Dr. Kurinjivendan, working as a professor in Govt college, Pondicherry, Central University India. He has done research on the role of Asian Laborers (especially India n Tamil: laborers of Malaysia) as PhD, and released book on the same. Also he had written and directed an documentary film, Siam-Burma Death Railway- (Untold. story of Asian Laborers)

EIELSON DES-NUDO

In 2005 Eielson agreed to have me in his homes in Sardinia and Milan and also he let me interviewed his artists and art critics friends in Paris and New York. Some months later, in 2006, Eielson dies at age 82, turning this material into the last record of his life.

Patricia Pereyra was born in Palo Alto, California. She is Peruvian and lives in Lima. At age 17 she began acting in theaters, films and television in Peru and Mexico. Helen Lewis: A Survivor's Story

'Dance saved my life.' Helen Lewis, a Holocaust survivor, shares her story in this short documentary about resilience and bravery.

Director: Caroline Friend

Caroline is a creative storyteller with a passion for bringing the past to life through documentaries and short films. Her interest in movies started at the age of 7 when she picked up the family camcorder. Since then she has written, directed, and edited over 50 short films that have been screened at competitions and festivals across the country. In 2011 she was recognized in Washington D.C. for a Historical Documentary she created on the Trent Affair, a diplomatic incident during the Civil War. Recently, she won the Grand Prize at the Shoah Foundation's annual film competition for her documentary on Holocaust Survivor Helen Lewis.
Caroline moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming a director and is currently studying Film and TV Production at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

I filmed my sister arguing with my mom while preparing Christmas dinner . I filmed her in strike, in a protest singing. I find a VHS I've been filming her since we were little girls . Apparently, as some verses of The International say, socialism would be something like a paradise full of brothers .

Tatiana Mazú González nació y vive en Buenos Aires. Se encuentra desarrollando su tesis de licenciatura en Artes Audiovisuales (IUNA), sobre el uso de las cámaras de seguridad en el arte contemporáneo. Se formó con Alberto Goldenstein y Rosana Schoijett en fotografía; con Mirella Musri en ilustración experimental y con Nele Wohlatz en cine documental. En 2014 estrenó su ópera prima, el largometraje “El estado de las cosas” (Beca Fondo Nacional de las Artes – Selección Oficial 27 Festival Internacional de cine de Mar del Plata). Dirigió el cortometraje "Maché"(Proyecto Bicentenario IUNA-INCAA) y los videoartes "Mi cuerpo es mío", "Caravaggio" y "Una aventura arcaicotrash". Forma parte del colectivo de directores de arte Los Espigadores (ternados a la Mejor Dirección de arte en Notodo Film Fest por “Oda”, videodanza de Charo Venegas) y del colectivo de cine clasista Silbando Bembas. Fue seleccionada en 2015 para participar del Berlinale Talents BA. Acaba de terminar el cortometraje “La Internacional” y se encuentra en etapa de desarrollo de sus próximos largometrajes, “Lxs Peregrinxs” y “Caperucita roja”.

Homogen

Nine episodes, nine characters, representative of a generation of homosexuals discuss the realities they face, from their « coming-out » to dealing with stereotypes, bullying and of course, finding love. Homogen delivers an intimate portrait of the Quebec gay and lesbian community where youth, parents, allies and dissidents can find real answers to their questions, without shame, judgment or taboo. The series elevates the personal experience to a universal level. In fact, it makes a difference by showing that in the end, there is no difference, after all.

Director: Isabelle Courville

Artistic creation is second nature for Isabelle Courville. Born on January 14th, 1992 in Hull, Quebec, Isabelle has always been passionate about performing arts, creative writing and cinema. She studied filmmaking for five years, beginning at Cegep de l’Outaouais and then at the University of Quebec in Montreal, where she just recently completed her bachelor’s degree. Her first short film, P.O.W. (2011) received critical acclaim at the Intercollegiate Film Festival and the Ottawa International Short Film Festival. The same year, she received the Governor General of Canada’s Medal for academic excellence and social and community involvement. From screenwriting to directing, Isabelle expands her filmmaking experience with her work as a cinematographer, using both words and light to reflect her unique vision, blurring the gap between reality and fantasy.
